This is a small fishing museum inside San Carlo´s Castle, one of the defensive bastions in the Coast of Death area. It was built in the 18th century to protect against English ad French privateers.

Today it houses an exhibition area related with Galician fishing arts.

This collection was inagurated on November 4th and it was visited by more than 110,000 people. 20% of visitors were from Italy, Germany, United States and even from Australia and New Zealand because Fisterra is the end of the world and the last point of the Santiago´s pilgrimage.

It is probably the most humble museum in the world, but it is certainly one of the most loved by its regular visitors who after listening the explanations so many times, they are expert guides.

The primary museum´s objective is for people make it their own and have life.

Here you can find fishing gear like french traps, tying needles... There are also models in display cases with fishing gear.

This museum is more than a place to exhibit objects, this is a Fishing Interpretation Centre to dignify the sailors work, because they risk their lives every day.
